Swap USDT to BTC: no KYC, no sign-up, decentralized

Turn dollar stablecoins into real bitcoin without an exchange account. USDT leaves your Ethereum wallet, native BTC arrives at a Bitcoin address you control, and nobody asks for your ID or holds the funds in between.

USDT to BTC is the buying side: people who keep savings in a dollar stablecoin and decide to move part of them into bitcoin, held in their own wallet. The usual route is depositing USDT on an exchange, buying there and withdrawing to Bitcoin; this swap skips the account and the withdrawal queue, and the BTC never passes through a balance someone else controls.

How to swap USDT to BTC

  1. 1

Check that the wallet holding your USDT on Ethereum also holds some ETH. Sending a token on Ethereum is paid in ETH, so a wallet with USDT alone cannot sign the swap.

  2. 2

Have a Bitcoin address ready, in a wallet you control on the Bitcoin network. Your Ethereum address cannot receive native bitcoin, even though it is where your USDT sits.

  3. 3

Enter the amount of USDT. The widget quotes the BTC you should receive and the cost before you sign anything.

  4. 4

Connect your Ethereum wallet and set the Bitcoin address as the destination. Your wallet may first ask you to allow the USDT to be spent: that is a standard permission for tokens on Ethereum, followed by the swap itself.

  5. 5

Confirm. Ethereum includes the transaction in moments; the BTC counts as delivered once the Bitcoin network adds it to a block, roughly every ten minutes.

Why swap USDT to BTC this way

No KYC, no account

There is nothing to sign up for: no account, no email and no identity check. You swap straight from your own wallet. Like every on-chain transaction, it is public on the blockchain.

Decentralized and non-custodial

Your funds never sit with RUNEBond or with an exchange. You sign the transaction in your own wallet and the BTC arrives straight at your address.

Cross-chain with native assets

Real USDT on Ethereum in, real BTC on Bitcoin out. No wrapped tokens and no IOUs: you receive the native coin in your own wallet.

Track every step

From the moment you confirm, you see where your swap is: USDT sent, confirmed, swap in progress, BTC delivered. No guessing.

Before you swap

Price on large amounts

Large swaps can get a slightly worse price and take longer than small ones. The widget shows the expected price impact and time before you confirm.

Refunds

If a swap cannot be completed, the USDT is refunded to the address it came from, minus network fees. Send from a wallet you control, never from an exchange.

Wrong destination address

The BTC goes to the address you enter, and it must be a Bitcoin address. Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed: check the address before you confirm.

Confirmation time

The swap starts once Ethereum confirms your transaction, so the total time depends on that network. The widget shows the estimate for your amount.

About Tether USD (USDT)

USDT is a stablecoin issued by Tether: a digital token that Tether says is pegged one to one with the US dollar and backed by its reserves. It is built on several blockchains, and this page covers the version that lives on Ethereum.

Unlike BTC or ETH, it is a token, not the native coin of its network. A native cross-chain swap lets you pay in your own coin and receive that token in your own wallet, with no exchange account in between. A stablecoin tracks the dollar by design, but it is still a crypto asset and carries the risk of its issuer.

  • This is USDT on the Ethereum network. The same token also exists on other networks, and an address that works on one can look identical on another. Make sure your wallet is set to the Ethereum main network, or the USDT will not show up even though it has arrived.
  • Sending any token on Ethereum costs a network fee paid in ETH. Keep a little ETH in the receiving wallet if you plan to move the USDT afterwards.
  • Send from a wallet you control, not from an exchange withdrawal: if the swap is refunded, the USDT goes back to the address it came from.

About Bitcoin (BTC)

Bitcoin is the first and largest cryptocurrency: a fixed-supply digital asset secured by proof-of-work mining. It lives on its own chain, and most ways of using it elsewhere mean handing it to a custodian or wrapping it into a token on another network.

A native cross-chain swap skips both. The BTC leaves your own wallet on the Bitcoin network and the coin you want arrives in your wallet on its own chain, with no exchange account and no wrapped token in between.

  • Send from a wallet you control, not from an exchange withdrawal: if the swap is refunded, the BTC goes back to the address it came from.
  • Bitcoin network fees move with demand. The widget sets the fee for you; a fee set too low can delay the confirmation the swap waits for.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a USDT to BTC swap take?

USDT here is a token on the Ethereum network, so it lands in your wallet once Ethereum confirms the transaction, which takes moments. A swap from USDT starts after you sign and Ethereum includes your transaction in a block. Bitcoin produces a block roughly every ten minutes, so a swap from BTC starts once your transaction has at least one confirmation. Larger amounts can wait for a few more. The widget shows the estimated total time for your amount before you confirm.

What address do I need to receive BTC?

A Bitcoin address in a wallet you control. An address from another network will not work.

Can I buy bitcoin with USDT without KYC?

Yes. The USDT leaves your Ethereum wallet and the BTC reaches your Bitcoin address without an account, an email or any documents. That does not make it invisible: both transactions are recorded on their blockchains.

Why do I need ETH if I am paying in USDT?

USDT here is a token on Ethereum, and every Ethereum transaction pays its network fee in ETH, not in the token you send. Without a little ETH in the same wallet, the swap cannot be signed.

Why does my wallet ask for two confirmations?

Tokens on Ethereum often need a permission before a contract can move them. The first confirmation allows the USDT to be spent, the second sends the swap. Both are shown in your wallet before you sign.

Can I send USDT from another network?

This page is for USDT on the Ethereum main network. The same token on other networks is a different asset, so pick the right one in the widget and never send it from a network the swap does not show.

What happens to my USDT if the swap cannot be completed?

The refund is sent to the Ethereum address that paid, less network fees, and the widget shows the status until then. Pay from a wallet you hold the keys to: an exchange deposit address would not credit a refund back to you. RUNEBond never takes custody of funds.
