Swap SOL to BTC: no KYC, no sign-up, decentralized
Move from Solana into bitcoin without an exchange account. Your SOL leaves your own Solana wallet, native BTC arrives at your own Bitcoin address, and there is no sign-up, no ID check and no one holding the coins while the swap runs.
- No KYC
- Non-custodial
- Cross-chain
- Native assets
SOL to BTC is the way out of Solana: taking what you made trading or using apps there and keeping it as bitcoin, in a Bitcoin wallet you hold the keys to. On Solana itself, "bitcoin" usually means a token issued by a bridge or a custodian, which only stays redeemable as long as they do. The other usual route is an exchange account: deposit, sell, withdraw. This swap ends with plain BTC on the Bitcoin network instead.
How to swap SOL to BTC
- 1
Open the Bitcoin wallet that will receive the BTC and copy a receiving address on the Bitcoin network. A Solana address, even one in a wallet that shows a bitcoin token, cannot receive native BTC.
- 2
In the widget, set the SOL amount from your Solana wallet. Keep a small amount of SOL behind: the transaction itself pays a fee in SOL, and Solana accounts hold a minimum balance that cannot be sent.
- 3
Paste your Bitcoin address as the destination and check the quote: the BTC you should get, the cost and the expected time, all before you sign.
- 4
Approve the transaction in your Solana wallet. The SOL side settles within seconds; the wait comes at the end, when the BTC sent to you counts as confirmed only once a Bitcoin block includes it, about every ten minutes.
Why swap SOL to BTC this way
No KYC, no account
There is nothing to sign up for: no account, no email and no identity check. You swap straight from your own wallet. Like every on-chain transaction, it is public on the blockchain.
Decentralized and non-custodial
Your funds never sit with RUNEBond or with an exchange. You sign the transaction in your own wallet and the BTC arrives straight at your address.
Cross-chain with native assets
Real SOL on Solana in, real BTC on Bitcoin out. No wrapped tokens and no IOUs: you receive the native coin in your own wallet.
Track every step
From the moment you confirm, you see where your swap is: SOL sent, confirmed, swap in progress, BTC delivered. No guessing.
This is the reverse of a swap into Solana, and the timing flips with it. Your SOL leaves your wallet within seconds of signing, and the slow part comes at the very end: the Bitcoin network includes the BTC sent to you in a block about every ten minutes. A swap that shows the SOL side done and the BTC side pending is waiting for that block, not stuck.
Before you swap
Price on large amounts
Large swaps can get a slightly worse price and take longer than small ones. The widget shows the expected price impact and time before you confirm.
Refunds
If a swap cannot be completed, the SOL is refunded to the address it came from, minus network fees. Send from a wallet you control, never from an exchange.
Wrong destination address
The BTC goes to the address you enter, and it must be a Bitcoin address. Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed: check the address before you confirm.
Confirmation time
The swap starts once Solana confirms your transaction, so the total time depends on that network. The widget shows the estimate for your amount.
About Solana (SOL)
Solana (SOL) is a proof-of-stake blockchain launched in 2020 and built for speed: blocks come in well under a second and network fees are a small fraction of a cent for a simple transfer. SOL is its native coin, used to pay those fees and to secure the network.
SOL lives on its own chain, and versions of it on other networks are wrapped tokens held by a bridge or a custodian. A native cross-chain swap moves real SOL in or out from your own wallet, with no exchange account and no wrapped token in between.
- Swap from your native SOL balance. Some wallets also hold wrapped SOL as a separate token; unwrap it to native SOL first if that is where your funds sit.
- Leave a little SOL in your wallet after the swap amount: Solana charges a small network fee on every transaction, and a wallet that is emptied out cannot pay for its next one.
- Send from a wallet you control, not from an exchange withdrawal: if the swap is refunded, the SOL goes back to the address it came from.
About Bitcoin (BTC)
Bitcoin is the first and largest cryptocurrency: a fixed-supply digital asset secured by proof-of-work mining. It lives on its own chain, and most ways of using it elsewhere mean handing it to a custodian or wrapping it into a token on another network.
A native cross-chain swap skips both. The BTC leaves your own wallet on the Bitcoin network and the coin you want arrives in your wallet on its own chain, with no exchange account and no wrapped token in between.
- Send from a wallet you control, not from an exchange withdrawal: if the swap is refunded, the BTC goes back to the address it came from.
- Bitcoin network fees move with demand. The widget sets the fee for you; a fee set too low can delay the confirmation the swap waits for.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a SOL to BTC swap take?
Solana produces blocks in well under a second, so a swap from SOL starts almost as soon as you sign, and SOL sent to you lands in your wallet within moments of the swap completing. Bitcoin produces a block roughly every ten minutes, so a swap from BTC starts once your transaction has at least one confirmation. Larger amounts can wait for a few more. The widget shows the estimated total time for your amount before you confirm.
What address do I need to receive BTC?
A Bitcoin address in a wallet you control. An address from another network will not work.
Can I swap SOL to BTC without KYC?
Yes. You sign from the Solana wallet you already use and name a Bitcoin address of your own as the destination; nobody asks you to register or upload an ID. Keep in mind that both the Solana and the Bitcoin transaction are visible on their public blockchains.
Is the BTC I receive real bitcoin or a token on Solana?
Real bitcoin on the Bitcoin network, at the Bitcoin address you enter. No bitcoin token is created on Solana for you, so there is nothing to redeem with a bridge or a custodian later.
Do I need a Bitcoin wallet before I swap?
Yes. Native BTC can only be received at a Bitcoin address, so set up a Bitcoin wallet you control first and copy its receiving address. Your Solana wallet signs the swap; the Bitcoin wallet only receives.
The SOL left my wallet in seconds. Why is my BTC still pending?
Solana settles almost instantly, but your BTC counts as confirmed only when the Bitcoin network includes it in a block, which happens roughly every ten minutes. The widget keeps the status live until the BTC is delivered.
What happens to my SOL if the swap cannot be completed?
The SOL goes back to the Solana address that sent it, less the network fees already spent. Because the refund follows the sender, start the swap from a Solana wallet you hold the keys to; an exchange account may never credit a refund it did not expect. RUNEBond never takes custody of funds.
